Shawn hails from and grew up in Dillon Montana where he graduated high school in 1979. Later, he matriculated to Montana State University in Bozeman where he graduated With a degree in communications in 1984.

Shawn's work experience includes 6 years as a TV sports anchor at KTVM TV in Butte, a job that brought him a great deal of joy as he considers himself somewhat of a sports buff. In 1990, he engulfed into a career selling insurance, a job that he remains active in today. His career selling insurance spans 33 years to date.
