Shaun Sitton is currently a student at Montana Tech, studying Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (Liberal Arts). After completing his degree, Mr. Sitton’s goal is to work as a a Licensed Addictions Counselor. He currently works part-time for CCCS Inc. at the SMART program as a Peer Support Specialist. Working with and supporting alcoholics and drug addicts is something that he has always wanted to do. Five years ago Mr. Sitton was in a horrific motorcycle accident which left him with a disability. His accident gave him the chance to go back to college, to pursue the career that he has always wanted but never had the time or the resources to do in the past. Being a nontraditional student poses challenges, but after living through his life’s trauma, Shaun’s personal experience has prepared him for this new journey in recovery services. Being a member on the Butte SPIRIT Board gives him hope that others will also get a second chance at life and accomplish their hopes and dreams.
