After overcoming a 21-year battle with polysubstance addiction, Misty began her recovery journey in 2019 and have since dedicated her life to helping others do the same. Following reunification with her children, Misty earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Support Program Services and has completed extensive training in behavioral health, peer support, and recovery education.
She is a certified ACES Overcomer facilitator, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator, master Naloxone trainer, and has completed Emergency Mental Health First Aid and peer support training. Her advocacy work includes education on human trafficking, being the bridge with C.P.S. and families for reunification, and homeless advocation.
Misty currently serves as the Director of Behavioral Health Drop-In Center Operations and Programming at the Butte Rescue Mission, and she am deeply grateful to also work with Butte SPIRIT Homes, supporting individuals in recovery and transition. She remains actively involved in the Local Advisory Council, Crisis Now Coalition, Behavioral Health Advisory Counsel subcommittee on Criminal Justice and the BSB Wellness Fair, contributing to systems-level change and community wellness.
Misty’s work is driven by lived experience, professional training, and an unwavering commitment to recovery, empowerment, and hope.
